Volunteer & Internship

Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a volunteer. Volunteers are a critical part of the CAC team! We have diverse, flexible, and meaningful opportunities for those who are interested in volunteering their time and unique talents toward restoring dignity, hope, and trust to children traumatized by abuse.

Interns are welcome and will go through similar application and training as volunteers. Depending upon need, we may be able to tailor your intern experience to meet varied intern requirements for your program. Internships are available on a limited basis. We are are not currently accepting applications for clinical therapeutic internships or practicums.

How do volunteers help?

Volunteers serve many roles in the daily life of the CAC. You can volunteer on site , help as a special event assistant, become a member of our outreach team to educate the public, or  host a fundraiser benefitting the CAC.

When are volunteers needed?

The CAC accepts volunteer assistance anytime during office hours (Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm) and occasionally some weeknights as needed. Although our office is not typically open on weekends, there are fundraising events throughout the year that require weekend help. Please contact us at (903) 957-0440 for more information on upcoming weekend activities..

Who can volunteer?

All volunteers must be over the age of 21 or be a full time college student, and be able to pass a criminal background check.

I’ve submitted my application. Now what?

You should receive a call or email shortly setting up an in-person interview. This interview will help you find the right fit at the CAC and will explore volunteer opportunities in more detail.

Interested in helping? Download an application today! Documents may be returned in person to our office at 910 Cottonwood Drive in Sherman, via fax to (903) 957-0429, or submit via this Google Form.
