Thank you so much for your interest in helping out here at the CAC! We are dependent upon the help of our volunteers so donations of time and services are greatly appreciated. Volunteers are needed to provide support to the children and families who come to the Children’s Advocacy Center. We have diverse, flexible, and meaningful opportunities for those who are interested in volunteering their time and unique talents toward restoring dignity, hope, and trust to children traumatized by abuse.
How do volunteers help?
Volunteers are essential in a number of ways. Most commonly, they help supervise children in the waiting area playroom, assist staff with office duties, work on a number of fundraising events, provide childcare during parent support groups, assist with lawn care and general facility maintenance, and help facilitate outreach programs in the community.
When are volunteers needed?
The CAC accepts volunteer assistance anytime during office hours (Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm) and occasionally some weeknights as needed. Although our office is not typically open on weekends, there are fundraising events throughout the year that require weekend help. Please contact us at (903) 957-0440 for more information on upcoming weekend activities.
Who can volunteer?
All volunteers must be over the age of 21, or a full time student and be able to pass a criminal background check.
Interested in helping? Download an application today! Don’t forget the Background Check Form- it’s REQUIRED for both interns and volunteers. Applications can be returned in person to our office at 910 Cottonwood Drive in Sherman, or via fax to (903) 957-0429, or email our Outreach Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
