Thank you so much for your interest in helping out here at the CAC! We are dependent upon the help of our volunteers so donations of time and services are greatly appreciated. Volunteers are needed to provide support to the children and families who come to the Children’s Advocacy Center. We have diverse, flexible, and meaningful opportunities for those who are interested in volunteering their time and unique talents toward restoring dignity, hope, and trust to children traumatized by abuse.
How do volunteers help?
Do you love children? Come volunteer at the Children’s Advocacy Center and become a Children’s Advocate and help our Therapist and Forensic Interviewers by coloring, playing games, and reading with the children as they await their Forensic Interview or Counseling appointment. This position works best in conjunction with another role, as the hours may vary or be unpredictable.
Non-Profit Management Assistant
Are you organized and enjoy performing clerical duties? Become a Non-Profit Management Assistant at the Children’s Advocacy Center and help with filing paperwork, making copies, data entry, faxing, other duties assigned.
Do you have a passion for community awareness? Become part of our outreach team and help out with outreach presentations, distributing brochures, setting up speaking engagements, and attending agency fairs.
Special Events Assistant
Do you enjoy event planning? Become part of our special events volunteer program and help out with fundraisers, outings, and special occasions.
When are volunteers needed?
The CAC accepts volunteer assistance anytime during office hours (Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm) and occasionally some weeknights as needed. Although our office is not typically open on weekends, there are fundraising events throughout the year that require weekend help. Please contact us at (903) 957-0440 for more information on upcoming weekend activities.
Who can volunteer?
All volunteers must be over the age of 21, or a full time student and be able to pass a criminal background check.
Interested in helping? Download an application today! Don’t forget the Background Check Form- it’s REQUIRED for both interns and volunteers. Applications can be returned in person to our office at 910 Cottonwood Drive in Sherman, or via fax to (903) 957-0429, or email our Outreach Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
